The Lady Lakers basketball team faced off against the Northwestern Lady Warriors in a conference matchup Wednesday night, Dec. 17 and came out firing. They jumped to an early lead behind hot shooting from beyond the arc, setting the tone from the opening minutes.
As the game wore on, the contest turned physical, but the Lakers stood their ground and closed out a hard-fought 50–46 victory. Kennedy Schwaderer led the way with 15 points, while Carly Strayer added 12 to keep the momentum going. Rya Pequignot and Hailey Smith chipped in with 8 and 7 points, respectively.
The JV Lakers were also back in action in a two-quarter matchup and controlled the game from start to finish. Taking the lead early, they never looked back, securing a 20–11 win. Hailey Smith powered the offense with 14 points, Terra Beltz contributed 4, and Brylee Buyer rounded out the scoring for the Lakers.
