Kenneth Joseph Martin, 79, of Bellefontaine, OH, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 28, 2025, at OSU Wexner Medical Center.
Kenneth was born on November 6, 1945 in Wapakoneta, OH, a son of the late Joseph Thomas and Mary Madalin Elliott Martin. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, April McIntire, two sisters and their spouses, Shirley (Dale) Block, and Mary (Ron) Hrisko, and two brothers, Jim Martin and Bill Martin.
Kenny married Hope E Leugers Martin on April 15, 1972, in Lakeview, OH and renewed their vows in 2018 at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. He is survived by Hope, his son, David E. (Kim) Martin of Lima, OH, seven grandchildren, Olivia (Nick Delpuppo) Martin, Elizabeth (Shamar Steele) Martin, Chelsea (Kyle) Overley, Joseph (Justine Hites) McIntire, Ashley (Jose Flores) Martin, Trista (Matt) Krouse, and Kelsie (Bate) LeMaster, 12 great grandchildren, Ryker, Finn and Evelyn Overley, Hunter McIntire, Lucas McIntire, Bentley Jones, Macey and Trevor Krouse, Emilee, Bailee, Bates IV, and Lynnae LeMaster, son-in-law, Mike McIntire of Lewistown, OH, four siblings and their spouses, Kathy (Joe) Leugers of Lakeview, Peg (Paul) Griffin of TN, Charlie (Lou Koenig) Martin of Dayton, OH, and Carl (Barb) Martin of Uniopolis, OH, two sisters-in-law, Kathy Martin of Wapakoneta, and Linda Martin of AK, and many nieces and nephews.
Kenny retired from Dana Corporation after 30 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, camping, especially at Cedar Lane Campgrounds on Catawba Island, hunting, and working in his woodshed. He also enjoyed a great sale either on clearance or a great find at a garage sale. His greatest love was spending time with his family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, February 1, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, 464 Madison Ave, Russells Point, OH.
Visitation will be Friday, January 31, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St, Lakeview, and one hour prior to mass on Saturday at church. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Gutman, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Kenny’s memory to St. Mary of the Woods Church.
