Ivolene M. Keykens, 95, of Lakeview, OH, passed away Sunday morning, February 4, 2024, at Otterbein Cridersville.
Ivolene was born on September 3, 1928, in Fostoria, OH, a daughter of the late David and Zelma Chadwick Brown. She was also preceded in death by three husbands, Cletus Hart, Lawrence Hicks, and Willy Keykens, two sons, Voughn Hart and his wife, Peggy Hart, and Chris Hart, stepdaughter, Josephine Keykens, a granddaughter, Anna Hart, and her sister, Annabelle Smith.
Ivolene is survived by her daughter, Beth (Don) Slaven of Lakeview, two stepsons, Les (Jane) Stratford of England, and Victor (Sheila) Keykens of Sidney, OH, six grandchildren, Jeremy (Patty) Collins, Jami (Trenton) Lee, Joseph (Bayley) Collins, Kristy Hart, Stephanie Hart, and Tonya Hart, many step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Hart of Texas.
Ivolene was a graduate of Columbus Central High School and was proud that it became the site for COSI. She worked as a secretary for Western Electric/ AT&T, and the United States Pentagon. When she returned to Ohio, Ivolene became an assistant for Dr. Terebuh for over 20 years before retiring. She was a member of Indian Lake Community Church, Indian Lake Eagles Aeries #3615, Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533, and West Milton VFW Post #8211 Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing. Ivolene helped with the organization of Point Amusement for many years. Her greatest joy was being with her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, OH.
Memorial contributions may be given in Ivolene’s memory to American Heart Association.
