The Indian Lake Board of Education gave a formal farewell to a longtime district leader at their Monday evening meeting, July 21.
Treasurer Coleen Reprogle is retiring at the end of the month.
Board President Gabe Wickline said the board is fortunate to have worked with someone like her.
“Her leadership, her longevity, her meticulous attention to detail has helped stabilize the district and has put us in a good position moving forward.”
Brady Hipsher will replace Reprogle. He was hired this spring and has been working under Reprogle’s supervision for the past few months.
In regular business, the board voted to move forward with a major upgrade to the Indian Lake High School Auditorium light system.
Superintendent Rob Underwood explained the importance of the project.
“We’re currently operating on a system that is so antiquated that it uses a floppy disk in the computer — it isn’t even functioning anymore.
“We are excited to see this upgrade. Our students deserve this and we know our community really wants us to maintain a nice auditorium because our kids do so well at that and we are so proud of them.”
Along those lines, the board approved the resolution waiving competitive bidding based on urgent necessity and authorizing negotiation and execution of agreements with Sweetwater Sound Holdings, LLC DBA Sweetwater Integration and Area Energy and Electric, Inc. for the auditorium lighting upgrades project.
