The Logan County Health District Board of Health met in regular session Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, approving enforcement actions, fee changes and administrative updates as the district closed out the year.
During public forum, the board voted to revoke a county business’s license following repeated violations documented during multiple routine inspections. Officials said the action was taken after compliance issues remained unresolved despite prior inspections and notice.
The board also addressed a long-standing nuisance case in the Lakeview area, voting to intervene in a related foreclosure action while continuing to pursue enforcement of a board order as practical.
In environmental health business, the board approved a well variance request for a Huntsville-area property due to site limitations, with conditions requiring protective measures before final approval. The board also adopted Resolution 2025-06 on its third and final reading. The board approved increases to water sample fees effective Jan. 1, 2026, raising private samples to $70, public samples to $50 and real estate water samples to $80.
Health officials also reported that a recent Ohio Department of Health survey found the county’s campground inspection program to be meeting minimum acceptable standards.
Routine business items were approved through the consent agenda, including November meeting minutes, monthly bill vouchers and financial reports. Nursing staff reported one childhood vaccination and 100 adult vaccinations administered in November.
Community health updates included infectious disease surveillance, harm-reduction efforts and grant activity. Officials reported distribution of 33 naloxone kits with one reported overdose reversal and reviewed continued use of the district’s harm-reduction vending machine.
Administratively, the board approved updates to staffing and organizational documents following previously approved reductions. Health Commissioner Travis Irvan also reported on staff training, inter-agency collaboration efforts and preparations for environmental health oversight of a composting facility planned in Monroe Township.
The meeting adjourned at 2:30 p.m., with the next regular meeting scheduled for Jan. 14, 2026.
