Fontella Rose Marmon joined her beloved husband John on September 10, 2025 at 12:35 AM.
She was born on April 12, 1940 to the late Robert Sr. and Frances (Brunke) Brooks. On May 17, 1958, she married the love of her life John F. Marmon Sr., who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her three children, John (Tricia) Marmon, Lori Garrison, and Beth (Tony) Barrett and a much beloved sister, Jan Kaye Sakanashi. Nine grandchildren, Nicholas, Paige, Anna, Christina, Stephen, Aaron, Zakary, Savannah and Tessa and many great grandchildren. Her brother, Robert Brooks, Jr., preceded her in death.
Fontella was an avid gardener, and an artist, especially enjoying painting flowers and landscapes, expressing her love of nature through her art. She attended First Friends Church in Bellefontaine for a large portion of her life and then attended Grace Chapel Church of West Liberty for approximately 20 years.
Fontella went back to school in 1982 joining the first class of LPNs at Ohio High Point JVS. She went on to work as an LPN at Green Hills in West Liberty for 15 years before retiring.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 19, at 10 a.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery following the service.
