The final determination on whether or not the sales of adult-use, recreational marijuana will be allowed in Bellefontaine will be made Tuesday, March 11, at the regular meeting of the Bellefontaine City Council at 7:30 p.m.
Up for a third reading and final vote at Tuesday’s meeting will be an ordinance, if passed, which will ban the sale of marijuana and prohibit all adult-use cannabis operators within the corporation limits.
In other matters Tuesday, the council will vote on a resolution declaring the city’s intention to provide services to 46.376 acres in Lake Township owned by Levan Investments, LLC, adjacent to the city of Bellefontaine, this being one of the first steps to annexing this land into the city’s corporation limits.
Two ordinances are up for second readings at Tuesday’s meeting. The first is to set city’s permanent appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2025, while the second is an ordinance changing the zoning classification of 300 N. Park St. from R-2, One and Two Family Residence District to R–3, Multifamily Residence District.
