Paul Michael Dean Anderson, 34, of Bellefontaine, is facing a first-degree felony rape charge after being arrested at about 11:38 p.m. Wednesday, July 9 at his home.
The victim is under the age of 13.
A relative of the victim contacted police Wednesday night when they learned about the encounters from the victim.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department responded to Anderson’s residence on a report of an argument between the suspect and relatives of the victim about the sex offense.
Anderson was Mirandized and arrested, after which he reportedly admitted to sexual contact with the victim on several occasions, the most recent being a few hours before the relative contacted law enforcement.
The suspect was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Details about the suspect’s arraignment have not been finalized.
