Law enforcement is seeking to find a driver involved in a Saturday night, July 26, one-vehicle crash, the scene of which they reportedly fled on foot.

Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Washington Township police, and deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash about 11:40 p.m. at State Route 235 and Township Road 293.

A perimeter was set up and the Washington Township Police Department drone was used during an approximately 90-minute unsuccessful search to find the driver of the heavily damaged red 2013 Ford F-150 pickup truck involved in the crash.

Lakeview firefighters and two emergency squads assisted at the scene.

Preliminary reports from troopers indicate the driver, believed to be the lone occupant in the vehicle at the time of the crash, was still being sought as of 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Troopers made contact with the truck’s owner, who was not in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The owner reported that the truck had not been stolen and that a member of their family had possibly been driving the vehicle.

Anyone with information about the crash may contact the Logan County Sheriff’s Office at (937) 592-5731 or the state patrol’s dispatch line at (937) 644-8811.

Crash investigation continues.
