Driver charged with OVI following rollover crash

Tyson Walther, 44 of Huntsville, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs related to a rollover crash Saturday afternoon, May 24. 

Officers of the Washington Township Police Department report Walther was operating a vehicle on County Road 37 near County Road 61 when he stated he tried to avoid a dog in the road. Then he reportedly drove off the road for approximately 90 yards before his vehicle overturned onto its side. 

The driver, who sustained minor injuries in the crash, admitted to drinking alcohol prior to driving He reportedly failed field sobriety tests and refused to take a breath test, officers said. 

He also was cited for failure to control and was released to a sober driver. 

Indian Lake EMS and an Echo unit also assisted at the scene, along with Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Russells Point Police Department and Indian Joint Fire District.
