Domestic call leads to arrest

A Bellefontaine man was lodged in the Logan County Jail Saturday, May 3, following a domestic dispute in the city.

According to the report by the Bellefontaine Police Department, Michael Wayne Cole Jr., 52, of Bellefontaine, was charged with persistent disorderly conduct after officers were called to his residence at about 1:59 p.m.

Officers report states that Cole had been in an altercation with his girlfriend at that time and while on the premises, officers learned that police had been called to the residence earlier in the day on reports of a similar situation, at which time Cole was given a verbal warning.

When officers were dispatched to the west Brown St. residence a second time, they noted that Cole had visible scratches on his left side and that he was he was slurring his words.

After collecting statements from witnesses, Cole was arrested for persistent disorderly conduct and transported to the Logan County Jail. Photographs were taken of his visible injuries and the report of the incident was forwarded to the Bellefontaine Municipal Court.
