DeGraff getting new sidewalk, repaving village park’s walking track

North Koke Street in DeGraff is getting a face lift, as the village is using a grant to install a sidewalk on the west side of the street north of Moore Street, where it will run north, cross Pleasant Street, and connect to the walking track at the village park as well as turn west to terminate on Main Street. Village Administrator Ken McAlexander said that the monies from the project come from a $800,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) received by the village and will include repaving the walking track that encircles the park. The project got under way earlier this spring, but steady rains have stalled the project several times. McAlexander said Thursday, May 22, that the last of the concrete for the sidewalk will be poured and asphalt for the track is expected to be in place by the second week in June, weather permitting.
