The eight kindergarten teachers explained classroom rules, toured the building and introduced the students to the playground. The kindergarten teachers are Amy Bennett-Brinkman, Ashton Childs, Morgan Ebbeskotte, Ami Horvath, Brittany Johnson, Amanda McGee, Samantha Stephens and Heather Usserman.
There are 144 kindergartners this year. The first week is used to acclimate the young learners.
In addition, approximately 130 students are attending pre-K this year at the elementary school. Bellefontaine City Schools launched the in-house preschool at BES in September 2022, serving 3-, 4- and 5-year-olds.
