Also up for second readings are ordinances that will adopt whistleblower, nepotism, social media use regulations and travel reimbursement policies for the city.

The council will also consider measures that will allow the purchase of miscellaneous supplies and making temporary appropriations for the year beginning Jan. 1, 2026, through Dec. 31, 2026, as well as ordinances that will create positions for a chief deputy clerk for the Municipal Court, a position for the wastewater department, an assistant water superintendent, and an assistant sewer superintendent.

Prior to the regular meeting, at 7 p.m. Tuesday the council will conduct a public hearing on a request from Gary Alexander Jr., 1393 Township Road 179, that the city annex four parcels of land totaling approximately 63 acres, all of which lie on the east side of T.R. 179 across from the Maris Park project.

All four parcels, numbers 12-092-00-00-025-001, 12-092-00-00-025-003, 12-092-00-00-025-004 and 12-092-00-00-025-000, lie within Jefferson Township.

At the hearing, the public will be given the opportunity to voice their opinions on the proposed annexation.
