Charles “Chuck” Edward Yule, 87, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 3:40 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on July 22, 1937, to the late Charles Fredrick and Elizabeth Mae (Varner) Yule.
On September 2, 1978, he married Kathy Leann (Smith) Yule, and she survives.
He is also survived by his daughter, Kelley (Dane Hanna) Yule; son, K.C. Yule; stepsons, Todd (Amy) Henry, and Steve (Erin) Henry; grandchildren, Lukas Yule, Jakob Yule, Preston Henry, Morgan Henry, Josie Henry, Charlie Henry, Sam Henry, and Madeline Henry; and great grandson, Jaksyn Yule.
Chuck was a graduate of Bellefontaine High School. He was a jack of all trades. He owned a service station with Larry Rowan, worked at LPZ, Thomas & Marker, New York Central, Pen Central, and Conrail Railroad as a yard clerk and crew dispatcher. Most recently, Chuck sold insurance for Western Southern Insurance, Nu-Insurance Center, and Sloan Insurance.
In his spare time, he was a member of the Masons (Grand Lodge), and a Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star. Chuck’s favorite pastime was playing the “Dog House” Bass with several groups, Hi Point Music Association, String Players Association, High Country Band, High Country Grass, Cool Yule, and The Blazing Aces.
Chuck was an avid fan of Ohio State football and basketball, the Cleveland “Indians” and New York Yankees. He loved traveling to watch his grandkids play sports, camping with friends, and listening to bluegrass and older country music, especially Willie Nelson. Chuck enjoyed watching westerns, reading Robert Parker books, and Coca Cola, so much so he filled an entire room with memorabilia. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Pastor Larry Novak will officiate a funeral service at noon Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service on Saturday, October 12th from 10am to 12 Noon, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery, 5506 County Road 201, Bellefontaine.
