Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report the arrest of Joseph M. Morris, 32, of Bellefontaine, around 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10.
The BPD report indicates that officers were called to a residence on the east side of the city on the report of a possible domestic incident.
Witnesses there told police that Morris had moved to the east side residence in Bellefontaine from Alabama about six months ago after establishing a relationship with a local resident online. Dispatch received a call from a friend of the resident just before noon Wednesday, reporting a possible domestic incident at Morris’ home.
Those on the scene reported that Morris left the residence just prior to the arrival police arriving. Shortly thereafter, Morris called 911 himself, claiming he was suicidal and was open to turning himself in to police.
Morris was soon located on foot near a tree line near Woodglen Circle and Lakewood Avenue, at which time he surrendered to police. Dispatch notified officers that Morris had active warrants out for his arrest in both Michigan and Mississippi, learning that the State of Michigan was actively seeking to extradite Morris on a felony warrant for failure to pay child support.
Officers then arrested Morris on the Michigan warrant and transported him to the Logan County Jail pending extradition.
• Roscelle Clark II, 64, at large, was arrested Thursday. Sept. 11, at 3:42 p.m. on two felony indictments that were active in Clark County, the first for trafficking in drugs, and the second for possession of drugs.
Both indictments on Clark handed up by the Clark County grand jury are first-degree felonies.
• Officers also report the arrest of William M. Dolan, 50, of Bellefontaine on a parole violation charge Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 5:38 p.m.
Both Clark and Dolan were taken into custody without incident and both were lodged in the Logan County Jail.
