The 2025-2026 Benjamin Logan FFA officer team and their adviser recently completed their summertime officer retreat, where they were fortunate enough to have two businesses offer tours and workspace for them to plan, communicate, and develop new ideas for this upcoming year.

The team spent the first day at Select Sires near Plain City to learn about the process of artificial insemination. Members learned about the process of retrieving the semen before it gets shipped off.

Afterward, they went over to the shipment facility and learned the process of shipping the semen off to locations in the U.S. or even in Europe. Once they were done with those tours, they had the opportunity to collaborate and discuss the upcoming year and events. They also enjoyed lunch from Piada.

The FFA officers wrapped up their day with another part of their tour at the Select Sires Calf Campus, where they learned about the process of growing the calves before they moved over to the collection barn.

Day two of the officer retreat was spent at the Wendy’s Corporate Office in Dublin, Ohio, in the test kitchen. The officers began the day with a tour of the kitchen and learned about some of the different models of previous kitchenettes and why Wendy’s decided to change to a newer model.

They also got to sample some possible new items that haven’t been released yet.

After the tour, members listened to presentations from fellow officers regarding fundraisers, committee chairs and a new student spotlight form. The team had a lot to discuss with all the different presentations, and were provided with plenty of work time.

They stopped to take a walk across the bridge to enjoy lunch at Condado Tacos. When they returned to Wendy’s, the officers continued to work and later got to enjoy their own custom Frostys, ending their day enjoying each other’s company and a sweet treat.
