Local football squads held 7 on 7 scrimmages on Tuesday evening, with the start of the regular season now just 30 days away.
Ben Logan dueled with players from Triad, while Indian Lake played host to West Liberty-Salem.
The Raiders were 3-2 in Central Buckeye Conference play and 3-7 overall. Indian Lake was 5-0, winning the Mad River division. They were 8-2 in the regular season, and defeated Versailles, Preble Shawnee and Greeneview to reach the regional final.
West Liberty-Salem went 5-0 to win the Ohio Heritage Conference North crown and was 9-1 overall in the regular season. In the playoffs, they had wins over Arcanum, Miami East, Waynesville and Indian Lake before falling in the state semifinals to Ironton.
Bellefontaine hosted a 7 on 7 event July 18 at AcuSport Staduim, which included area teams from Ashland, St. Francis DeSales, Kenton and Wapakoneta. The Chiefs travel to Allen East to kick off their season.
Ben Logan opens the season at Bluffton, West Liberty-Salem hosts Jonathan Alder, and Indian Lake will travel to Lima to face Bath.
Riverside will attend a 7 on 7 event on Thursday, July 24 at Waynesfield-Goshen. The event starts at 6 p.m. on the school’s practice field and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
The Pirates are away against Ansonia for their season opener.
