BHS girls bowling team claims title at Tiger End of Season Tune-Up

The Bellefontaine High School girls bowling team captured the championship Saturday at the Tiger End of Season Tune-Up Tournament, held at Wayne Webb Lanes in Columbus.

Competing against 18 other teams in a total-pins format, Bellefontaine rolled three regular games followed by six Baker games.

After a slow start, Bellefontaine found its groove during the last two regular games and moved into the lead.

Bellefontaine posted regular game totals of 803, 1,001 and 1,035 for 2,839 pins, then added 991 pins in Baker play with games of 140, 158, 193, 174, 150 and 176 to finish with a tournament-best 3,830.

Celina placed second with 3,808 pins, followed by Miamisburg (3,583), Teays Valley (3,320), Pickerington Central (3,297) and Columbus South (3,196).

Gracie Hood led the Chieftains with games of 201, 223 and 246 for a 670 series. Chloe Heminger followed with 629 (202-191-236), while Addison Prosser rolled 564 (149-205-210) and Rylee Anderson added 558 (151-213-194). Kodi Palmer contributed a 418 series (100-169-149).

Bellefontaine also placed four bowlers on the tournament’s all-tournament team, with Hood earning first place overall, Heminger second, Prosser eighth and Anderson ninth.

The Lady Chieftains will be back in action Thursday when they compete in the sectional tournament at Woodman Poelking Lanes.
