Coburn to serve as BIS principal

Mrs. Pat Martz is all smiles as she prepares to begin an exciting new chapter—retirement—after 32 years of service to Bellefontaine City Schools. We are incredibly grateful for her commitment, leadership, and lasting impact on our school community, and we wish her all the best in this well-deserved next adventure.

We are also pleased to share that Mr. Dave Coburn will serve as the Intermediate Principal for the remainder of the school year until the position is permanently filled. Mr. Coburn brings with him 34 years of experience as both a science teacher and school administrator, most recently serving as a principal at Indian Lake Schools.

When asked about joining Chieftain Nation, Mr. Coburn shared that he is looking forward to working with the intermediate age group at BIS and has already heard wonderful things about the building and community. While the Laker colors may be similar to BCS, he jokingly admitted he may need to ask Santa for some new black and red gear—without the “IL” on it!

Welcome to BCS, Dave—we’re excited to have you with us!*Information provided by BCS
