Workers from the Village of Lakeview carefully install lights on the village Christmas tree recently in preparation for the upcoming holiday festivities. Thursday, Dec. 4, the evening light parade in Lakeview begins at 6 p.m., followed by the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Then Saturday, Dec. 6, a plethora of holiday activities abound in downtown Lakeview, including breakfast with Santa at the AMVETS from 8 to 9:30 a.m., followed by a scavenger hunt, petting zoo with free pony rides, and Santa visits at the North Pole, all from 9 to 11:30 a.m. A gift giveaway from the scavenger hunt begins at noon at the Lakeview Fire Department. Food vendors will be on site downtown on Dec. 4 and 6. In addition, Santa’s workshop at the Young at Heart Center takes place from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 4; 3 to 6 p.m Dec. 5; and 8 a.m. to noon Dec. 6.
