Reckless driving stop leads to OVI citation
A Bellefontaine woman was cited for operating a vehicle while under the influence and/or drugs after a traffic stop Saturday night, Nov. 15, for erratic driving on County Road 18 just south of Township Road 200.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s office report a caller informed dispatch around 8:34 p.m. that a Honda Acura was moving well below the speed limit and failing to maintain its lane. A deputy located the vehicle on County Road 43 and followed it for about a half-mile. The driver slowed nearly to a stop while turning onto C.R. 18 and crossed both the center and fog lines before the deputy initiated a traffic stop.
The driver, identified as 44-year-old Shanna M. Kreglow, appeared to have glossy, pinpoint eyes and struggled to form words when speaking with the deputy. She presented a Kentucky driver’s license, and dispatch confirmed she did not hold a valid Ohio license because of a non-compliance suspension.
Kreglow told the deputy she had not been drinking but had taken a dose of prescribed medication earlier that day.
Field sobriety testing was conducted, and the deputy reported clues of impairment.
Kreglow was transported to the Logan County Jail, where she consented to provide a urine sample.
She was released to a sober driver.
