Benjamin Logan High School conducted its annual NHS tapping ceremony Tuesday, Oct. 21, welcoming 45 new members into the National Honor Society (NHS). The event was organized and led by current NHS senior members, who managed all aspects of setup and presentation. The 11 senior inductees are: Livi Achor, Landon Braddock, Brooklynn Chamberlin, Kaidyn Green, Aubrey Harris, Sophia Harris, Britanna Jacobs, Paxton Henry, Hannah Larsen, Leina Brunson and Taylor Shoffner. The 34 junior inductees are: Levi Achor, Johnathon Beikman, Catherine Bramlage, Bonnie Brunson, Elliott Butler, Ethan Carpenter, Maximus Clapsaddle, Holly Coaty, Madelyn Daniels, Maysen Daniels, Rylee Davis, Leah Dials, Gabriel Elsasser, Aleah France, Andrew Frederick, Kyla Godwin, Wyatt Gordon, Kylie Harner, Kaylee Hays, Brock Henry, Lydia Johnson, Lauren Kennedy, Lillian Kerns, Colton Klopfenstein, Emily LeVan, Avah Miller, Oliver Morse, Jaylyn Parker, Elizabeth Rosebrook, Isaac Skidmore, Junah Tingley, Maxwell Troth, Abigail Vance and Lucille Wenger. In addition to student inductees, two honorary staff members were also recognized during the ceremony for their exceptional dedication to student development and academic excellence: Jason Smith, computer science teacher, recognized for his instruction in Computer Repair, Personal Finance, Programming/APPS/CCP, and Computer Principles; and Jodie Kavanagh, mathematics teacher, honored for her leadership in Algebra II, College Algebra/CCP, Statistics/CCP, and Calculus CCP. The newly inducted students will be formally recognized at the Logan County NHS Induction Ceremony, hosted by Riverside High School at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11. The BLHS NHS adviser is Kelly Gibson.
