A pair of area players hit milestones for the Bluffton University volleyball team recently.
Jenna Woods, a senior opposite hitter from Riverside, reached 1,000 career kills in a road match against Trine on Sept. 23.
She recorded 21 kills and hit .240 for the match.
Gabby Williams, a senior setter and graduate of West Liberty-Salem, had 46 assists in the match, which Trine won in four sets. She passed 1,000 assists for her career. Last season, she had 50 assists in the program’s 1,000th win.
Woods and Williams were also teammates in club and travel volleyball before playing for the Beavers.
A third member of the team, libero Emma Organ has reached 1,000 digs for her career.
Sophomore Madison Brentlinger of Indian Lake is an outside hitter for the team.
Bluffton is 7-10 overall on the season. They will host the Sommer Center Spiketacular this weekend. Other teams will be Adrian College, Baldwin Wallace University, University of Olivet, Hanover College and Heidelberg University.
Bluffton is a Division III program and play in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
