Week 4 football recap: Bellefontaine, Riverside, WL-S earn wins; Indian Lake falls

Local football teams battled through a busy Friday night slate, with Bellefontaine rebounding to top rival Benjamin Logan, Riverside grinding out a dramatic win over Milton-Union, West Liberty-Salem handing Springfield Catholic Central its first loss, and Indian Lake falling to state-ranked London.

Bellefontaine 28, Benjamin Logan 10
The Chieftains leaned on senior Carter Caudill, who rushed for 160 yards and three touchdowns to lead a bounce-back win over their county rivals. Quarterback Reign St. Clair threw for 195 yards and a touchdown, while Bellefontaine’s defense sealed it with a late red-zone interception. Both teams move to 2-2.

Riverside 28, Milton-Union 23
Tony Robinson’s 48-yard touchdown run in the final minutes lifted the Pirates to a TRC victory. Robinson finished with 103 receiving yards, while Gunner Carpenter added two short scoring runs. Riverside’s defense forced multiple turnovers to withstand Milton-Union’s Charlie Lane, who rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns.

West Liberty-Salem 31, Springfield Catholic Central 7
The Tigers scored on offense, defense and special teams in a dominant showing. Corbin Wallace rushed for 195 yards and a touchdown, while the defense returned both an interception and a fumble for scores. WL-S is now 2-2 after handing SCC its first loss.

London 44, Indian Lake 14
Daquanne Parks was unstoppable for London, running for 184 yards and four touchdowns in a road win. Indian Lake managed two scores — a Noah Shirk run and a Brady Golliday-to-Brodey Reisinger pass — but London’s 29-point first half proved decisive. The Lakers drop to 2-2.
