The Bellefontaine Board of Education learned about a proposed student trip during their monthly meeting Monday night, Sept. 8, in the Sloan Distance Learning Center.
Bellefontaine Middle School Assistant Principal Matt Comstock detailed the annual eighth-grade trip to Washington, D.C. Students along with chaperones will visit the nation’s capital May 21-24, 2026.
The itinerary for the trip includes stops at the U.S. Capitol, Arlington National Cemetery, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Ford’s Theatre, National Zoo, Smithsonian and more. They’ll also stop in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
The four-day trip will cost $956 per student. Student Adventures is the tour agency.
BMS will host an informational meeting on the trip at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 16 in the gym.
Booster Bar sales will help fund the trip. Students will start selling the candy bars Sept. 17.
“It’s a valuable learning experience for our students to see our nation’s capital and the many historical attractions,” Comstock said.
The board will vote on the trip at their next meeting.
