Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Monday afternoon, Sept. 8, after he allegedly threatened a family member during a domestic dispute at their residence.
Deputies were dispatched around 3:34 p.m. to a Township Road 86, Wapakoneta residence — a Logan County address — where they found the suspect, identified as Brian Hill, 39, standing in the yard while other family members were on the porch.
Deputies said Hill had a knife in his pocket, which he discarded when ordered to do so. Deputies were able to de-escalate the situation and placed him in handcuffs.
A family member told deputies Hill suffers from mental health issues and had asked to be driven to a bar. When the family member refused and tried to leave, Hill allegedly attempted to open the vehicle door, shook the vehicle and said, “I’m going to punch you in the face.”
The family member told deputies he feared for his safety inside his own home and provided a written statement. He was also given a victim’s rights form.
Hill was transported to the Logan County Jail and charged with domestic violence, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
