A Zanesfield man was issued a summons for domestic violence after an early Saturday, Aug. 23, incident at a State Route 559, Zanesfield, residence.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home about 1 a.m. after a female victim’s parents reported their daughter had a verbal argument about relationship issues with her boyfriend, Kyle Huffman, 22, that escalated into a physical altercation.
During the altercation, the victim said she unintentionally kicked Huffman in the face after he refused to leave a bedroom and attempted to restrain her. He also pushed the victim, and she struck a wall and a fan, which broke at the base.
Deputies located Huffman, who had a red mark on his face from being kicked, at a Rushsylvania residence, and he provided a similar accounting of the incident.
He was advised not to have contact with the victim and was given the summons.
2 charged after domestic incident
Two people were charged with domestic violence after a Sunday evening. Aug. 24, incident at a Holly Drive, Lakeview, residence.
Deputies responded about 8:25 p.m. and made contact Shelby Rector, 28, was resides at the residence with Donald Webb.
Rector said her boyfriend, Webb, 53, “smacked” her in the face and she then smacked him in retaliation.
The woman, who told deputies she was intoxicated, said an argument over possible stolen money, a rental vehicle and other issues turned physical.
Webb told deputies he pushed Rector, but did not smack her and that she struck him with an open hand in the chest and face.
Deputies observed red marks on both parties from the altercation.
Webb was issued a summons for the domestic charge.
Rector was arrested for the misdemeanor offense and was transported to the Logan County Jail, where she was lodged.
• Dallas Red, 35, of Lakeview, was arrested for criminal trespassing about 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, after being discovered at a Lakeview business.
Employees of Indian Lake Flea Market filed a report previously on Aug. 16 to have Red trespassed from the business.
Deputies later located Red, who admitted to being at the business earlier that day.
He was transported to the Logan County Jail.
• William Hoebel, 56, of Redmond, Ore., was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs after a traffic stop on State 117 near State Route 366.
Deputies initiated the stop about 11:55 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, after observing Hoebel’s Ford F-150 pickup truck drift across the fog line twice and fail to maintain marked lanes.
Hoebel reportedly had glassy, bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol.
Field sobriety tests provided indicators of impairment.
A bottle containing dark red liquid that smelled of alcohol was recovered from the truck.
The driver was transported to the Logan County Jail, where a breathalyzer test registered a .215 blood alcohol concentration — more than twice the legal limit.
He was lodged in the jail.
