Whitaker collects 15 saves in loss
The Chieftain girls soccer team dropped its home opener to St. Marys, 3-0, in non-league action at AcuSport Stadium Monday, August. 18.
The Roughriders limited the Chiefs to just three shots on goal in the match, while keeping Chieftain goalkeeper Emma Whitaker busy as she collected 15 saves on the night.
Callie Shumaker had two of the Chiefs’ shots on goal and Chole Stolly had the third.
Bellefontaine is now 0-2 on the season, while St. Marys improves to 1-0.
The Chieftains play another non-league game at Kenton Thursday, Aug. 21 at 5:30 p.m.
