Calvary Christian girls soccer wins first ever game

The Calvary Christian girls soccer team played their first ever game Monday, with a 12-0 win over Middletown Christian.
Makarios Kariuki led with five goals. Lydia Davie and Caroline Moore had two each. Reagan Roell, Annagail Lambert and Eden LeCrone had one apiece.
Maddison Freeland made three saves and earned the shutout. The Spartans also got solid midfield play from Allie Schmidt and Arianna Augustus, pressure by Emily Cronkleton and Meg Palmer, and defense by Blythe Lowe and Kacey Andre.

GIRLS SOCCER
St. Marys 3, Bellefontaine 0
Bellefontaine lost to St. Marys in the first home game of the 2025 season on Monday night.

The Roughriders limited the Chiefs to just three shots on goal in the match, while Chieftain goalkeeper Emma Whitaker collected 15 saves on the night.
Callie Shumaker had two of the Chiefs’ shots on goal and Chole Stolly had the third.
Bellefontaine (0-2) will travel to Kenton on Thursday with the game set to start at 5:30 p.m.

Shawnee 3, West Liberty-Salem 0
West Liberty-Salem lost to visiting Shawnee Monday in non conference play.
Kaylee Blair had 11 saves for the Lady Tigers.
WL-S (0-1-1) will open Ohio Heritage Conference play on Thursday at Northeastern. Play begins at 5:30 p.m.

Southeastern 3, Indian Lake 2
Indian Lake lost to Southeastern Monday at home in nonleague action.
Olivia Hurley had a goal and an assist and Harly Kinninger scored the other goal. They had 13 shots total.
Kylee Harford had 10 saves in net.
Indian Lake is now 1-1. They will host Greenville on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

BOYS GOLF
Riverside 179, Temple Christian 195
Riverside defeated Temple Christian Tuesday at Cherokee Hills Golf Course.
Hayden McCully was the medalist (40), followed by Syler Clark (41), David Gross (45) and Zane Armbruster (53). Also in action were Daniel Esh (54) and Hayden Sanford (56).
Scores for Temple Christian were Drew Marshall (46), Noah Wright (47), Derek Schultz (49) and Ryder Stoltz (53).

Milton-Union 190, Riverside 190
On Monday, Riverside and Milton-Union met in a Three Rivers Conference match on Monday at Cherokee Hills.
Each team had a score of 190 for the lowest four golfers. Milton-Union won on the tiebreaker for the fifth score.
Hayden McCully of the Pirates was the medalist with a 42. He was followed by Hayden Sanford and Syler Clark, each with 47 and Zane Armbruster at 61. David Gross had a 66.
For Milton-Union, the scores were Austin Hodkins (46), Keaton Jones (47), William Coate (47) and Hunter Fraley (50), as well as Joey Kaczmarek (55) and Heath Craport (65).

Botkins 143, Indian Lake 177
Indian Lake to to Botkins on Monday in a nonleague match at Prairie View.
Jaxon Snipes led the Lakers with a 42. Cooper Hall and Crew McPherson each shot 44 and Jesse Carder had a 47. Other scores were Joe Cummins (47) and Kade Richardson (51).
Greg Meyer had a 33 for Botkins and was the medalist.

Urbana 192, Bellefontaine 200
URBANA — Bellefontaine lost to Urbana Monday at the Urbana Country Club.
Ryland Davis of Urbana was the medalist with a score of 41.
For the Chieftains, Collen Brugler and Kyle Boop each had rounds of 48, Noah Smith shot 49 and Cody Hudson finished at 55. Other scores were Christian Sterling (62) and Landon Severt (68).
Besides Davis, other scores for Urbana were Jackson DeWitt (45), Pryce Bass (50), and Kelton McClain (56).

GIRLS GOLF
Riverside wins tri-match
Riverside outshot Milton-Union and Lehman Catholic in a match on Monday at Cherokee Hills.
The Lady Pirates had a 215, led by match medalist Reaghan McDaniel (41). Adalynn Calaway had 53, Lei Hurley 57 and Whitney Leatherman (64). Grace Owens rounded out play with a 72.

Indian Lake 223, North Union 232
MARYSVILLE — Indian Lake defeated North Union in a match Monday at Darby Creek Golf Course.
Alex Kinney had the low round with 48 and was the medalist. She was followed by Lily Michael and Adriana Andrus, both with 57 and Taylor Klofta at 61. Other scores were Chloe Borgerdiing (63) and Bella Michael (72).
North Union’s scores were Gabby Lindsey (53), Laine Spencer (59), Lily Hall (59) and Delaney Workman (61).
