The Logan County Historical Society is pleased to announce a new history book, Historic Sketches of Logan County, Ohio, which is being written by Mary E. Mortimer with contributions from Todd McCormick, John McPherson and Beth Marshall.
The book will feature some of the articles Mary has written for the History Center’s Facebook page and website plus other interesting histories of people, places and events of Logan County. We will once again be partnering with M.T. Publishing Company, Inc. to create this new photographic history book.
M.T. published the Historical Society’s “Historic Glimpses of Logan County, Ohio” and Mary E. Mortimer’s “Reflections of Zanesfield Vol I & II” books.
This 8.5 x 11-inch coffee-table size edition will be beautifully-bound in a hard cover with a color dust jacket specially designed for this one-of-a-kind publication and will contain many photographs and historical highlights of our county — past and present. High-gloss, double-coated paper will be used for superior photo reproduction.
The final page count will depend on the number of book orders – so we need your support! Only a limited number of books will be printed, therefore it is necessary to take all orders in advance. Do not delay!

A downloadable digital edition is available for $9.95 in conjunction with the purchase of a hard cover edition.
You may choose to have your copy personalized with a name stamped on the cover for an additional $10 charge.

Historic Sketches of Logan County, Ohio, will contain a Patron section for Logan County businesses, churches, schools, clubs, and organizations. You are invited to submit your written histories for prominent display in the professionally-designed history book. Imagine the prestige that will be rendered by including your history in this permanent record of Logan County, Ohio.
For a Patron Page, you should include your history and interesting stories written in the third person (he, she, they). Include any information you feel pertinent: the date your business, church, school, club or organization was started, location(s), who was the founder, growth, etc. and a historic and current photo if possible.

Patron Page cost:
• For a full page, please submit approximately 800 words with two photos.
• For a half page, please submit approximately 300 words with one photo.
• Full color pages are being sold for $500 and half color pages for $400.
• Full black and white pages are being sold for $240 and half black and white pages for $195.
• A full black and white or full color page purchase includes a complimentary copy of the book.
Patron pages must be submitted by Aug. 31, 2025.
