The Wacky Boat Races are back for 2025, and the call is out for teams ready to build, paddle, and maybe even sink in style.
Set for Saturday, Aug. 9, in the Lakeview Harbor, this crowd favorite is looking for fun teams and homemade boats to join the fun.
Businesses, organizations, families and friends are all invited to get creative and enter a boat.
The only rules are simple: no marine materials, no motors and no paddles or surfboards. Your boat must float and be powered by your crew. Life jackets are required, and racers must be 18 or older or accompanied by an adult.
Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. and races begin at 10 a.m. Arrive early if your boat needs a few last-minute touch-ups.
Whether you’re racing or just watching, come enjoy Lakeview Harborfest. There will be food trucks, shopping, music and entertainment throughout the morning. Take your lawn chairs and cheer on the racers.
