A Bellefontaine man arrested July 13 for drug paraphernalia was again arrested early Friday, July 18, for the same offense.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office stopped Shayne Proffit, 41, who was attempting to operate a moped about 12:30 a.m. on a sidewalk along North Main Street at Brown Avenue.

Deputies recognized Proffit from the earlier arrest where a clear plastic vial containing methamphetamine residue was found on the suspect.

Proffit consented to be searched during the Friday stop and deputies found the same vial containing a crystal-like substance from the earlier arrest.

He admitted that the substance recovered is methamphetamine.

The suspect reportedly told deputies he eats methamphetamine to help with anxiety issues and that he has a friend who resides in Dayton take him to Columbus to buy drugs.

He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
