The second flower show of the week at the Logan County Fair featured items like roses, daylilies, sunflowers and artistic designs to celebrate the fair’s sesquicentennial with themes like Grandma’s bouquet, dried design and fun times at the Midway.

Judge Marian Moeckel with the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs expressed her admiration of such a “pretty show.”

“It’s so beautifully laid out and organized with the pieces of wood keeping each class separate,” she said after judging the floral entries on Friday, July 11.

This year’s Best of Show winners were Cheryl Elkins, artistic design, (pictured on the table to her right); Doris Hager, horticulture; Judith Bozman, daylilies; and Elkins, Queen of Roses.

Taking home the Reserve Best of Show ribbons were Karen Feltham, artistic design; Doris Hager, horticulture; Marianne Antram, Princess of Roses; and Joe Antram, daylilies.

Sharon Kennedy, open class coordinator, announced Marianne Antram as the show’s sweepstakes winner, and added, “She beat her husband, Joe, by two points!”
