A second annexation ordinance in as many months will be before the Bellefontaine City Council for a first reading at Tuesday’s regular meeting, July 8, which takes place at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, 135 N. Detroit St.
The ordinance concerns the LeVan Property, 46.376 acres of land lying south of Lake Avenue and west of Ludlow Road/County Road 1. Should the ordinance of annexation pass all three readings, the property is expected to be used to build housing units.
As with most annexations, if the land is annexed, it will come into the city zoned as R-1, Single Family Residential District, but the developers informed council at a recent meeting that they will likely ask that the land be rezoned – which would take a separate ordinance if and when the property is annexed into the city – as a Planned Unit Development.
Also up for a first reading at Tuesday’s meeting will be a ordinance allowing the city to enter into a repair and grant agreement with Skyhigh Investments, LLC and Breyden Penhorwood regarding the property located at 114 N. Detroit St., further authorizing the transfer of the property to Skyhigh Investments, LLC.
