A Piqua man sustained serious injuries in a one-vehicle motorcycle crash about 11:30 p.m. Friday, July 4, on State Route 368 near State Route 366.
Keith Schmitz, 48, was operating a southbound 2016 Polaris Scout motorcycle on S.R. 368 when he failed to negotiate a curve, went off the left side of the road and crashed.
Schmitz, who was reportedly partially ejected from the bike, was transported by BMRT squad to Lima Memorial Hospital.
The motorcyclist was found to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs via blood testing and was cited for OVI.
The bike had disabling damage and was towed by Wren’s Towing.
