Mary Jane Bowers, 78, of Sidney, OH, joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 3, 2025, while at Dorothy Love Nursing Center, Sidney, OH.
Mary Jane was born on September 28, 1946, in Louisville, KY, a daughter of the late Loren, Sr. and Lottie (Milby) McCubbins. On May 9, 1964, she married Ralph Bowers in Louisville, and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2021. She is also preceded in death by two sons, Paul Bowers, and Stanley Bowers, siblings, Sheila Hollenbeck, Wendell McCubbins, Barbara Stivers, and brothers-in-law, Morris Nunn, and Don Stivers.
Mary Jane is survived two children, Rebecca (Mike) LeMaster, and Joshua Bowers, eight grandchildren, Anthony (Carmen) LeMaster, Tim (Bethany) LeMaster, Zackary (Taylor) LeMaster, Avagail Bowers, Derrick (Sara) Bowers, JJ (Emily) Bowers, Stephen (Grace) Bowers, and Chris (Kylie) Bowers, 11 great grandchildren, Gavin and Gracyn Bowers, Hazzel and Junior Bowers, Ruth Bowers, Quinn, Mya, Micah, and Ezra LeMaster, Simon and Stella LeMaster, two siblings, Loren (Evannah) McCubbins, Jr., and Carlotta Nunn, two in-laws, Tom Hollenbeck, and Pat McCubbins, and several nieces and nephews.
Mary Jane loved serving her Lord and caring for her family her entire life. She spent many years transporting youth to and helping at church, and babysitting. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting.
Pastors Tim LeMaster and Stephen Bowers will begin funeral services at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Only Believe Ministries in Botkins, OH, with visitation from 10-12. Inurnment will be at a later date in Milby Cemetery, Sommerville, KY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary Jane’s memory may be made to Only Believe Ministries or Ohio’s Hospice.
