UNION COUNTY – The Union County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident in which a 19-month-old female apparently drowned in a pond in the 19000 block of Paver-Barnes Road Sunday evening, May 4.
Union County deputies report that they were dispatched to the Paver-Barnes address at about 7:23 p.m. Sunday after receiving a 911 call reporting the incident.
Deputies arrived on the scene approximately eight minutes following the call and began CPR. Shortly thereafter, medics from the Marysville Fire Department arrived, continued with the CPR and transported the toddler to Memorial Hospital in Marysville, where the child was pronounced dead at 9:03 p.m.
The child was transported to the Montgomery County Crime Lab for an autopsy and the incident remains under investigation by the both the UCSO and the Union County Coroner’s Office.
The name of the victim has not yet been released.
