A Reynoldsburg man is facing a felony charge of domestic violence following an incident at Heritage Court Wednesday, April 30.
The Bellefontaine Police Department said officers were dispatched to 809 Heritage Ct. at about 12:40 p.m. Wednesday on the report of domestic dispute.
Officers report Jawuan Lamar Woodby, 19, of Reynoldsburg was on the premises and told officers on their arrival that he was in violation of a no-contact order with the victim. He conveyed that he and victim had been arguing.
The victim was found in the apartment’s bathroom crying, with visible bruising on her throat and blood on her shirt. At first, the victim reported that she was five-months pregnant and said that Woodby did grab her by the throat, but she refused to complete a statement, while also refusing medical examination or allowing officers to take photographs of her injuries.
The officers arrested Woodby and transported him to then Logan County Jail without incident, charging him with a fifth-degree felony count of domestic violence and referred the case to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office.
