A woman was arrested Saturday, Feb. 22, after an assault at a local business that reportedly involved repeated strikes with a space heater and pulling the victim’s hair.
Briana Queen, 32, of Bellefontaine, was charged with assault and lodged in the Logan County Jail following an investigation by officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department. Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the police department around 7:30 p.m. after the victim reported the attack at their workplace.
Queen was reportedly intoxicated when she entered the business office and immediately became hostile, yelling and then physically attacking her. The victim stated that Queen pushed and shoved her to the ground, pinned her down, and repeatedly struck her with a small space heater. The victim sustained injuries to her head, upper back, shoulder and neck.
The victim provided police with a damaged space heater and a bag of hair they said had been pulled from their scalp.
Later that evening, officers attempted to make contact with Queen at her residence. A man at the scene warned police that she was intoxicated and might resist arrest. After repeated attempts, officers were able to speak with Queen. She admitted to the assault and told officers that she had control.
Queen was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Logan County Jail.
