Adult missing for more than 10 days found safe

An adult who reportedly had been missing for nearly two weeks has been located unharmed in a neighboring county, officers of the West Liberty Police Department report.

Rhonda Fleming, 42, was last seen leaving her residence Sunday, Jan. 10. Witnesses reported seeing her walking in the area of north Detroit Street in West Liberty and getting into an unknown vehicle.

The West Liberty Police Department was notified of her disappearance on Monday, Jan. 20, at approximately 4 p.m. Following an investigation involving multiple agencies, Fleming was found safe at a residence in Cable, located in Champaign County. Authorities confirmed her well-being and instructed her to contact her family.

Chief of Police Shane Oelker expressed gratitude for the coordinated efforts of law enforcement.

“I would like to thank the Logan County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center, Logan County Sheriff’s Office Detective Section, the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office and the Bellefontaine Police Department for all of there assistance in locating Ms Fleming in a quick manner,” Oelker said.
