Three students in Rick Reed’s BHS Community Service program poured their time, energy and cooking talents into generously giving back this holiday season to five local families.

Maelee Van Buskirk, Kayla Geboy and Kinley Dunn chose to create, shop, cook and deliver a full-course Thanksgiving meal to the families this week featuring turkey and all the trimmings.

During the last several months, the girls planned the project by first sending e-mails to gather information on families in need. Then they created a meal plan, made a grocery list, shopped for the goods and cooked the meal.

Turkey, cheesy potatoes, macaroni and cheese, chicken noodles, and a dessert made up the meal and was met with great appreciation by the recipient families.
