Donald Eyler, 60, of Tipp City, was arrested Friday, Oct. 4, on charges relating to an incident that occurred at his lake house in the 11000 block of Horsehoe Channel in Lakeview.

Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to that residence shortly before 8 p.m. on a 911 call from a neighboring residence reporting the incident. Deputies arrived and spoke first with Eyler who said he “bumped” the victim during an altercation after she became confrontational with him. He said she dumped bottles of alcohol on the floor of a bedroom and was the primary aggressor.

Deputies then spoke with the victim who said that Eyler was the primary aggressor and that he gets aggressive while drinking. She admitted to pouring alcohol on the floor of the bedroom because she was upset about how much he drinks.

He became hostile and the victim reportedly attempted to call 911, and Eyler grabbed her phone from her. A scuffle ensued and the victim was pushed into a sliding door that deputies observed to have been off its tracks.

The victim eventually was able to flee next door where she called 911. Eyler continued to assert to deputies that the victim started the scuffle, but he did admit to taking her cell phone.

He was charged with disrupting public services and for domestic violence and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
