Huey Magoo’s, the popular chicken tender chain, is set to open a new location in Bellefontaine at 2079 S Main St, at the site of the former Del Taco.
An official opening date has not yet been set, but the restaurant’s website has confirmed the upcoming expansion.
The announcement follows the opening of a Huey Magoo’s in Marysville in June 2023. The Marysville location was the 49th restaurant in the chain’s system, which now includes nine states. Additionally, Huey Magoo’s has over 225 franchises sold across 12 states and has steadily grown its footprint in recent years.
Del Taco, which previously occupied the south Main Street location, closed its doors last winter. Since, the location has been the subject of much speculation on social media.
A May 15 Facebook post to a local Bellefontaine forum sparked significant discussion, with 167 comments. Many users speculated about the new tenant, with Huey Magoo’s and Jack in the Box emerging as the most frequently mentioned possibilities.
