Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office cited a northeast Ohio man for drunk driving after he reportedly lost control of his vehicle shortly before 7:45 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, and damaged residential property along State Route 117 in Richland Township.
Thomas Schaefer, 41, of Aurora, was southbound in the 11000 block of S.R. 117 when the 2011 silver Audi he was driving traveled off the right of the road and struck a mailbox. The vehicle reportedly continued driving while off the roadway before re-entering the roadway southbound and coming to a stop.
Signs of alcohol impairment were reported, but Schaefer refused a breath test at the scene. He was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol.
No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained minor damage.
