Devin P. LaFollette, 43, of 2782 S. County Road 32, Bellefontaine, was charged with felonious assault relating to a domestic complaint at his residence Tuesday, June 25.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to his address about 8:35 p.m. on a report from LaFollette that his wife needed a squad after falling into a door.
Upon arrival at the scene, the defendant told deputies that he and his wife had been in an argument. He admitted to pushing her.
Deputies said his wife was inside the residence and was visibly upset. She stated to them that she could not feel her legs. She was transported by Macochee EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital.
Deputies spoke with family members at the residence, including a 17-year-old daughter, who reported her parents being in a verbal argument and then her father damaging a cell phone during the incident. Deputies observed the smashed cell phone.
The couple’s son also reported his father shoved his mother into a wall. The son said he then intervened and held his father away.
Deputies also met with LaFollette’s wife at the hospital, where they were advised she had a bump/swelling on the back of her head and that she had previously broken her neck about five years ago.
The defendant was transported to the Logan County Jail. A report was forwarded to Logan County Prosecutor’s Office and Logan County Children’s Services, with a request of an additional charge of domestic violence.
