A serious crash that occurred Monday, June 17, has claimed the life of the passenger.
Brittnie Whetsel, 32, of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday from injuries sustained in a crash that occurred around 2:45 a.m.
Marcus Hagans, 37, of Springfield, was driving a Polaris Slingshot on County Road 29 when he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the right side of the roadway into a tree line, deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report.
He overturned the vehicle and it came to a final rest on its top.
Both Whetsel and Hagans were transported from the scene to Mary Rutan Hospital for suspected serious injuries.
Alcohol and/or drugs are being investigated as potential contributing factors to the crash.
