Ketzy Vanbuskirk was found to be unresponsive after she was pulled from the pool at a family member’s residence at 9137 N. County Road 12.

CPR was performed on the child, and she was transported full code by BMRT squad to Mary Rutan Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, deputies said.

That evening at 7:10 p.m., deputies responded to the area of 5692 E. State Route 274, Rushsylvania, to speak with family members regarding the missing 3-year-old, who had been wearing a white dress. Ketzy had been missing for about 45 minutes to an hour at that point.

Then deputies received information that the child might be somewhere in the area of C.R. 12, and soon learned that the child had been found by her father in the pool at the 9137 N. C.R. 12 residence.

Rushcreek Fire and EMS also responded to the scene.

Deputies spoke with family members and also with neighbors who had assisted in searching for the child.

One neighbor on C.R. 12 who had been working in his garage reported observing a child in a white dress walking east down the road by the railroad tracks near the intersection of S.R. 274 and C.R. 12.

Deputies also canvassed the area to look for residences with working surveillance cameras that might have footage of the child.

The Logan County Coroner’s Office also responded to Mary Rutan Hospital. A report has been forwarded to the LCSO investigative division and Logan County Children’s Services.
