Karen Sorreles will hand over the reins of the Logan County Education Foundation beginning Feb. 1 to retired teacher Lois Stoll, who was recently selected as the new executive director.

Sorreles’ roles and responsibilities with the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center have expanded with the increased emphasis on the 3E initiative, therefore creating the need for a new LCEF executive director.

Stoll retired from Benjamin Logan Schools following the 2020-21 school year after serving as a family and consumer science teacher. She worked for the district for 29 years and had completed a total of 32 years in education at her retirement.

Ben Stahler, previously announced as the new executive director, has elected instead to serve as a trustee for the foundation representing Bellefontaine City Schools, LCEF officials relate.

Currently, 24 trustees, representing Bellefontaine City Schools, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake and Riverside serve three-year terms to guide the direction of the foundation.

The Logan County Education Foundation is celebrating its 35th year in 2024 representing a long tradition of support for students and teachers in Logan County.
