Logan County Spelling Bee challengers announced

The Midwest Regional Educational Service Center has announced the spelling bee winners from the Bellefontaine City, Indian Lake, Riverside and Benjamin Logan Local schools.

Each building will send their top two spellers to compete at the County Spelling Bee, slated for Tuesday, Jan. 16, at The Holland Theatre, 127 E. Columbus Ave., Bellefontaine.

The bee will begin promptly at 6 p.m.

The top two spellers (listed below) from each of these buildings will be representing their respective schools in the spelling bee:

Bellefontaine Intermediate School — Garrett Gossard, fifth-grade, parents: Justin and Sarah Gossard; and Natalee Kuhns, fifth-grade, parent: Nichole Kuhns.

Bellefontaine Middle School — Sloan Stolly, eighth-grade, parents: Josh and Whitney Stolly; Caden Yoder, eighth-grade, parents: Colin and Carrie Yoder.

Indian Lake Middle School — Calin Headings, fifth-grade, parent: Jacqulyn Stannard; Finn Ammons, sixth-grade, parents: Kevin and Amy Ammons.

Benjamin Logan Middle School — Autumn Cline, eighth-grade, parents: Clark and Jaclyn Cline; and Macie Marmon, sixth-grade, parents: Logan and Tara Marmon.

Riverside Middle School — Isabella Yelton, seventh-grade, parent: Veronica Scherer; and Kyle Winfrey, eighth-grade, parents: Anna and Brandon Winfrey.

Riverside Elementary — Sofia Butler, sixth-grade, parents: Brandon and Barb Butler; and Eli Dunn, fifth-grade, parent: Roxanna McCoy.

Should the need for cancellation arise, the make-up spelling be will be Tuesday, Jan. 23.
